1983 Yamaha SS440 Service and Repair Manual

Yamaha issued one service manual for the whole SS440 run, and LIT-12618-SS-02 is the part number stamped on it. The 1983 sled carries the model code SS440G, so check that code against the decal on your tunnel before you order.

Because the book was written to cover the 1981 through 1985 model years together, the procedures are laid out with year and code callouts wherever the factory changed something. That is the same way a dealer technician of the era would have used it: find the model code, then follow the steps written for it.
