Last of the three years under publication LIT-11616-XS-12 is 1980, carried as model code XS1100G. Yamaha wrote the one book for 1978 through 1980 rather than issuing a new text each season.

The content is dealer-level throughout. Engine and gearbox overhaul is given in the order the work is done, with torque values stated at the fasteners that need them; carburettor service includes the specified settings and the synchronisation method; the electrical chapter carries full wiring diagrams for tracing faults on a loom that may well have been altered over the years.
