1979 Yamaha SR500 Service and Repair Manual

SR500F is the 1979 machine, and it is documented in LIT-11616-01-50 alongside the TT500 and XT500 for the whole 1976 to 1981 period.

If you already own a manual for one of the related singles, check its part number; Yamaha did not publish separate books for the SR, TT and XT, so it may be this same volume.

The text is the factory's. It gives tightening torques, service limits and running clearances, sets out engine, transmission and chassis work in sequence, includes full wiring diagrams, and works through electrical, fuel and ignition faults as a series of measurements rather than suggestions. Where one of the three models differs from the others, the difference is stated at the point it matters.
