1978 Yamaha IT175 Service and Repair Manual

Enduro machines got their own literature, and the 1978 IT175 is served by LIT-11626-00-84. Note the different prefix from the street models; the book was written for this model year alone, with the code IT175E.

Confirm IT175E on the frame plate. The IT175 changed year to year and the years do not share one manual, so the code is the whole fitment question.

Inside, the engine sections give teardown, inspection and reassembly in factory order, with the service limits used to judge a bore, piston or bearing, and torque values for putting it back together. Carburation and ignition are specified. Chassis coverage takes in the suspension, brakes, wheels and controls.

The electrical chapter carries the wiring diagram and the tests for the components on it, and fault diagnosis is grouped by what the machine is actually doing wrong.
