1976 Yamaha XS650 Service and Repair Manual

Yamaha identified the 1976 XS650 as XS650C, and the factory service information for it is bound into LIT-11616-01-52 along with the 1974, 1975 and 1977 machines.

One book for four years is the arrangement Yamaha chose, and it works in an owner's favour. Where the twin was revised during the run, the revision is stated against the code it applies to, so an XS650C is not serviced to a neighbouring year's figures by accident.

The chapters move from specification and adjustment into full overhaul. Engine work is sequenced as the factory dismantled it, with the measurement to take and the torque to return to; the gearbox and clutch are treated separately; and the chassis sections cover fork rebuild, rear suspension, wheel bearings and brake service. Fuel and ignition setting are given as procedures with values, and the electrical chapter includes the complete harness diagram.
